The Hearts Behind Pink Butterfly
`I’m Serpil, the founder of Pink Butterfly Ltd, which I started in 2020. During the Covid pandemic I began selling skincare online, focusing on exporting the full range of The Ordinary products from the UK. I first discovered The Ordinary by chance in 2020 and quickly realised that its formulas use minimal, focused ingredients and offer some of the most effective and affordable skincare on the market. I trusted the science, loved the results on my own skin and decided to build a business around sharing these products – and I still enjoy selling The Ordinary today.
For more than 14 years I have also relied on probiotic foods. After chemotherapy and multiple surgeries, I developed IBS and severe food intolerances that lasted for three years. When doctors couldn’t offer a solution, I started my own research and discovered kefir. As a Turkish woman I already knew and loved traditional Turkish yogurt, but adding kefir became a real part of my healing. Today I still make and enjoy homemade kefir and yogurt every day, and it makes me truly happy to see my customers benefit from kefir grains and probiotic products as well.
For me, the pink butterfly is a rare, free spirit – delicate, silky and fragile, with a short life but a beautiful presence. Pink Butterfly Beauty is my way of bringing together everything that helped me – science‑based skincare, probiotics and a gentle, loving approach to self‑care – and sharing it with you. I’m also a mature student studying Digital Media and Communications at Teesside University, and starting my degree later in life gave me the skills to build this website myself. It reminds me that it is never too late to learn something new or to start again, as long as we are alive and breathing – and Pink Butterfly Beauty is the bridge I’ve created to share the products, routines and little “butterfly moments” that have helped me, so I can pass those butterflies on to you.
